Wolverhampton Branch Severn Valley Railway Supporting the SVR since 1967 |
Please note that because of falling attendance, the 15th January 2024 meeting will be a General meeting to discuss the future of the Branch.
About Us
The SVR Wolverhampton Branch continues to provide tangible support to the
Severn Valley Railway through its activities.
Our Branch is actively involved in the marketing of the railway at shows and
exhibitions. To commemorate the 40th Anniversary of the Branch we had a specially commissioned OO gauge
wagon which is now
sold out.
The branch holds public meetings at the Old Wulfrunians Club, 253A Castlecroft Road, Castlecroft, Wolverhampton, WV3 8NA. Although the actual meetings start at 7.30pm the room is available for use from 7pm. Free car parking is available and the venue is licensed. Here is a map of the location of our venue< Or if you have Google Earth, here is a .kmz of the location for our meetings. Allcomers welcome, SVR membership not essential. Admission is by purchase of a raffle ticket, costing £3-00 to be drawn during the meeting.
Our meetings are open to all, please come and join us on the second Monday of each month from September to May. Subjects covered include local transport history (including buses and canals) as well as railway subjects from Britain and abroad.

Disabled Access
Our first major project being the conversion of a
carriage for the conveyance of disabled passengers.
We were also involved with another coach for a similar conversion, and it is now in-traffic and re-dedicated.
7819 Hinton Manor
During Member's Day 2004 at Kidderminster Town the Branch
handed over the custodianship of
Hinton Manor to the SVR Rolling Stock Trust (now SVR Trust).
July 2010 saw the publication of Wolverhampton's Railways in Colour, profits from which will also go towards this worthwhile cause.
We also had produced a model Wolverhampton Stafford Road Brake Van in OO. This is no longer available from us.
There is also a limited edition watercolour print of 7819 on Talerdigg bank.
Our follow-up to Wolverhampton's Railways in Colour, which is Wolverhampton's Railways Revisited is available at our Branch Meetings, SVR shops and major bookshops.
