About Us
The SVR Wolverhampton Branch continues to provide tangible support to the Severn Valley Railway through its activities. Our Branch is actively involved in the marketing of the railway at shows and exhibitions. To commemorate the 40th Anniversary of the Branch we have a specially commissioned OO gauge wagon. To get an idea what the Branch activities are like, why not read the Chairman's Report for 2010.The branch holds public meetings at the Old Wulfrunians Club, 253A Castlecroft Road, Castlecroft, Wolverhampton, WV3 8NA. Although the actual meetings start at 7.30pm the room is available for use from 7pm. Free car parking is available and the venue is licensed. Here is a map of the location of our venue. Or if you have Google Earth, here is a .kmz of the location for our meetings. Allcomers welcome, SVR membership not essential. Admission is by purchase of a raffle ticket, and from September 2008 costing £2-50, to be drawn during the meeting. This was our first increase in over five years.
Our meetings are open to all, please come and join us on the second Monday of each month from September to May. Subjects covered include local transport history (including buses and canals) as well as railway subjects from Britain and abroad.

The Branch also has a social side other than the meetings. We organise trips and outings that are not only of railway interest. Why not join us?
Disabled Access
Our first major project being the conversion of a carriage for the conveyance of disabled passengers.We are also joint owners of another coach for a similar conversion, and it is now in-traffic and re-dedicated.
7819 Hinton Manor
During Member's Day 2004 at Kidderminster Town the Branch handed over the custodianship of Hinton Manor to the SVR Rolling Stock Trust.As part of the Branch's continued support for Hinton Manor, we have arranged for the production of a Limited Edition model.
Recently (July 2010) saw the publication of Wolverhampton's Railways in Colour, profits from which will also go towards this worthwhile cause.
